When one individual inflicts bodily injury upon another, such injury, that death results, we call the deed manslaughter; when the assailant knew in advance that the injury would be fatal, we call his deed murder. But, when society places thousands of citizens in such a position that they inevitably meet a too early an unnatural death, one which is quite as much a death by violence as that by the sword or bullet- when it deprives thousands of the necessities of life, places them under conditions in which they cannot live and forces them, through the strong arm of the law, to remain in such conditions until that death ensues which is the inevitable consequence, knows that these thousands of victims must perish, and yet permits these conditions to remain- it’s deed is murder just as surely as the deed of the single individual. Disguised, malicious murder, murder against which does not seem what it is, no man sees the murderer, because the death of the victim seems a natural one, since the offence is more one of omission than of commission. But murder it remains. The present social system has placed the workers under conditions in which they can neither retain health nor live long; the system undermines the vital force of thee workers gradually, little by little, and so hurries them to the grave before their time. (paraphrase- The Condition of the Working Class in England by Friedrich Engels)

The poor, unemployed, the working classes, wage slaves-consumers whose life necessities are in the hands of the rich and powerful-whose lives are under siege everywhere, are being plundered, oppressed and exploited by government and big business, while such is under the protection of the law.

The rich and powerful have the direct and indirect control of the means of ‘SUBSISTENCE’ and ‘PRODUCTION’, this is the WEAPON in which they use to carry on this SOCIAL WARFARE, and murder against the poor, the unemployed and the wage slaves.

What security does the average working class person have, that he or she along with their children will not be cast into the hells of homelessness, starvation, malnutrition, and extreme poverty? We and our ancestors, whether European, African, Asian, Indian (indigenous or eastern) etc., have been cast into the capitalist whirlpool, where one must struggle through as well as one can. We toil and compete against one another because of this condition we are in.

If the capitalist, government employers’ or corporate employers etc. decide to choose some of us and let others starve, he uses the starving population to threaten those who work, to work harder for lower wages, because he knows the fear the worker have of job loss and the hell that comes along with it.

So the worker thanks the capitalist for the favor he has shown to him. The capitalist did show the worker favor, right?

The rich bosses ‘appear’ to show the worker favor so he can use the worker to make more profits, therefore enriching himself. The worker knows that every breeze that blows, every whim of his employer, every bad turn of trade or loss of potential profits for his employer may cause him to lose his job and throw him or her back into the hells of extreme poverty, homelessness, starvation and malnutrition etc.
